The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has joined many Nigerians in celebrating the First Lady of the country, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her 65th birthday. He described her as a caring, compassionate, and determined leader whose positive impact is felt not only in Lagos but also across Nigeria.
In a birthday message released through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, on Sunday, Governor Sanwo-Olu praised Senator Tinubu for her outstanding contributions to public service. He reminded people of her time as the First Lady of Lagos State for eight years, where she worked closely with communities, and also her service as a senator representing Lagos in the National Assembly for three consecutive terms.
Speaking on behalf of his wife, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos State Government, and the people of Lagos, the governor warmly congratulated Senator Oluremi Tinubu. He referred to her as the wife of Nigeria’s President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and a respected leader in her own right.
Governor Sanwo-Olu highlighted her ongoing efforts through the Renewed Hope Initiative, a programme she established to support women, children, and vulnerable groups. According to him, her passion for uplifting others is clear in the many empowerment schemes and charitable projects she has initiated across the country.
The governor described her as a true representative of Lagos State and a role model for women in leadership. He said she has carried out her duties with integrity, without any blemish, both as the First Lady of Lagos and later as a senator for three terms.
He further stated: We are proud of her achievements in both private and public life. Her dedication to the progress of Lagos and Nigeria deserves to be recognized and celebrated. Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s kindness, fight for fairness in society, and commitment to giving back to the less privileged make her stand out as a remarkable leader.
Sanwo-Olu also referred to her as our Amazon, a strong and courageous woman who has shown resilience and grace in her service to humanity. He offered prayers for her, asking God to grant her more years of good health, strength, and wisdom to continue her mission of service to Nigeria and its people.
As she marks this milestone age of 65, I pray that God continues to guide her steps, bless her with long life, and give her the grace to keep serving humanity with passion and love, he concluded.
