Actor Gary Busey, who is best known for starring in The Buddy Holly Story, has been given a punishment of two years of probation. This happened after he admitted that he touched a woman inappropriately in 2022.
Court papers show that the decision was made on Thursday. Besides probation, Busey must also give a DNA sample, and he is not allowed to contact two of the women involved in the case.
Busey’s lawyer, Blair Zwillman, said on Sunday that the actor is glad to finally put this situation behind him. The lawyer explained that the case brought a lot of negative attention to Busey for over three years. Zwillman added that Busey is now retired, values the career he had as an actor, and simply wants to continue with his life.

Back in July, Busey admitted guilt to one charge of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact. This charge was connected to an incident where he touched a woman inappropriately at a horror film convention in New Jersey in August 2022. During an online court hearing, Busey openly said, It was not an accidental touching.
Because he pleaded guilty, prosecutors agreed to drop the other charges against him. Those dropped charges included three more counts of sexual contact and one count of attempted sexual contact. Several women had accused Busey of inappropriate behavior during a photo session at the Monster-Mania Convention held at the Doubletree Hotel in Camden, New Jersey.
According to two women, Busey grabbed their buttocks and even tried to unhook one of their bras. At first, Busey denied everything. He told the news outlet TMZ that nothing happened and that the entire meeting with the women lasted less than 10 seconds. He also claimed that the women had made up a story about the events.
