Popular Nigerian chef and Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci, has revealed her next big challenge. She wants to make history again by cooking the biggest pot of Jollof rice the world has ever seen.
Hilda made the announcement on Friday through a post on her Instagram page. In the post, she explained that this special event will take place on September 12, 2025, and will be done in partnership with the well-known food seasoning brand, Gino.

According to her, the pot that will be used is no ordinary cooking pot. It will be a massive pot measuring six metres wide and six metres tall, almost the size of a small building. She said this dream of cooking the largest pot of Jollof rice started almost two years ago, and now it is finally coming true with the support of Gino and the many fans who believe in her.
In her words:“Almost two years ago, I dreamt of cooking the largest pot of Jollof rice ever made. Today, that dream is becoming real. Six metres wide, six metres tall. On September 12, we will make history together. Because Jollof is not complete without people to share it with.”

Along with her message, Hilda also shared a video where she spoke passionately about the project. She explained that the event is not only about food but also about celebrating culture. For her, Jollof rice is more than just a meal, it is the heartbeat of West Africa, a dish that connects people and tells the story of the region.
She added:“Some dreams do not let us sleep until we achieve them. In 2023, it was the Cook-a-thon that caught the attention of the whole world. This year, it is Jollof rice,This meal represents our identity, our music, our joy, and our culture. We are about to create history again, and I want everyone to witness it. Two years ago, I imagined the biggest pot of Nigerian Jollof rice ever cooked, and now, with Gino, a brand we all grew up with, hat dream is finally becoming reality.”
Hilda Baci first became a global sensation in May 2023 when she successfully completed a 100-hour cooking marathon in Lagos. That incredible achievement earned her a place in the Guinness World Records and made her one of Nigeria’s most celebrated chefs.
Now, she is ready to push the limits once more and bring people together through food, culture, and history.
