The Lagos State Police Command has cleared the air about the news that popular TikTok influencer Habeeb Hamzat, better known as Peller, was kidnapped during a live video session on Wednesday night. According to the police, Peller is completely safe and nothing bad happened to him.
Speaking on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Thursday, the police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin explained that the first checks carried out by officers showed that the young influencer was at home, unharmed, and not in danger.

Mr. Hundeyin said:“We are aware of the claims of abduction, and we are investigating the matter. But at this moment, we can confirm that Habeeb, also called Peller, is at home safe and sound. His car is still in good condition, and none of his phones, gadgets, or personal belongings were missing.”
He added that the police are still looking carefully into what exactly happened. They want to find out if it was a real kidnapping, a staged incident for publicity, or simply a misunderstanding.
There was no violence at all, and everything he owns is intact, Mr. Hundeyin noted.
The whole drama started when videos circulated online showing that Peller was suddenly taken away by some men while he was doing a live stream on TikTok. In the short clip, Peller seemed to think the men were security officers, but they quickly pulled him away.
This created panic among his fans and followers, as many people believed he had been kidnapped.
Peller, who is just 20 years old, first became popular in 2021 through his short videos and live-streams on TikTok. Over time, he grew his brand and even began streaming events and shows on Twitch, another global live-streaming platform.
For now, the police are urging the public to remain calm while they continue their investigation into what truly happened on that Wednesday night.
