The Civil Defense, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has officially announced the commencement of the massive 2025 recruitment exercise into four major paramilitary agencies under the Ministry of Interior.
This latest recruitment drive provides job opportunities for young, qualified Nigerians interested in building a stable career with attractive benefits in the Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
In a public statement released by the CDCFIB, the Board stated, “The general public is hereby informed that recruitment into the following four agencies has officially commenced: Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigerian Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.”
The statement further disclosed that applications are now being accepted from suitably qualified candidates to fill existing vacancies in the different positions within these agencies.
The recruitment exercise covers three main categories: General Duty, Inspectorate Cadre, and Assistant Cadre. Each category has its own requirements and qualifications.
Category A: General Duty – Superintendent Cadre
The Superintendent positions are strictly for highly qualified professionals in various fields. The positions include:
Superintendent of Corrections, CONMESS 02:
Only available in the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCOS). Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from a recognised institution.
Assistant Superintendent I, CONPASS 09:
Available only in the Federal Fire Service (FFS). Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Water, or related fields) or Law (LL.B, LLM) from a recognised university.
Assistant Superintendent II, CONPASS 08:
Available across the agencies. Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognised institution.
Category B: Inspectorate Cadre
Positions under this category are open to mid-level professionals, especially in the health sector.
Inspector, CONHESS 06:
Available in NCOS, FFS, and NSCDC. Applicants must be Registered Nurses (RN), Registered Midwives (RM), or Registered Nurses/Midwives (RNIM) with qualifications obtained from recognised institutions.
Assistant Inspector, CONPASS 06:
Applicants must hold a National Certificate in Education (NCE) or National Diploma (ND) in any relevant field from a recognised Polytechnic.
Category C: Assistant Cadre
These positions cater to applicants with secondary school certificates or trade qualifications.
Assistant II, CONPASS 04 (General Duty):
Applicants must have a minimum of five (5) credits in not more than two sittings in GCE O’Level, SSCE, NECO, or equivalent qualifications. English Language and Mathematics are compulsory.
Assistant III, CONPASS 03 (General Duty, Drivers, Appliance Operators, Artisans):
Applicants must possess a minimum of four (4) credits in not more than two sittings in GCE O’Level, SSCE, NECO, or equivalent, or hold a Trade Test Grade III certificate (e.g., Motor Driver Mechanics, Auto Electricians, etc.).
Requirements for Applicant
- Must be Nigerian by birth
- Must possess the required educational qualifications
- Must be physically and mentally fit with a valid Medical Fitness Certificate from a recognised Government Hospital
- Must be of good character with no criminal conviction
- Must not have been involved in any financial embarrassment
- Age limit is between 18 and 35 years
- Minimum height requirement is 1.65m for men and 1.60m for women
- Male applicants must have a chest measurement of not less than 0.87m
- Computer literacy is considered an added advantage
The recruitment portal officially opens on Thursday, 26th June, 2025, and will remain open for three (3) weeks.
How to Apply
Interested applicants are expected to apply online through the official recruitment portal at https://recruitment.cdcfib.org. The application window will remain open for three weeks from the date of this announcement for interested and qualified Nigerians to submit their applications.
The Board warned applicants against multiple applications, stating, “Applicants should note that they can apply in only one of the four paramilitary agencies of their choice. Multiple applications across agencies will automatically lead to disqualification.”
The CDCFIB also reminded the public that the recruitment exercise is completely free. “Applicants should note that the application is absolutely free. Beware of fraudsters. No payment is required at any stage of the recruitment exercise,” the statement emphasised.
