A very sad incident has left a family and community in Kisii, Kenya, in deep pain. Photos that recently surfaced show two little boys standing quietly beside the coffin of their 3-year-old friend, Moses Mokua, as they stared at him during his funeral.
According to reports, Moses was a healthy and cheerful child. On August 6, 2025, his grandmother, who loved him dearly, left him in the care of another relative within the family compound. Everything seemed normal, and no one expected that tragedy would strike.
It was later gathered that a neighbour asked that Moses come over to play with her own child. Since he was always playful and happy, the little boy went to join his friend. Sadly, when it was time to return, he was nowhere to be found.
The family began searching for him around the compound, calling his name repeatedly, but there was no response. After a desperate search, they were left shocked and heartbroken when they finally discovered Moses’s lifeless body inside a water drum. The discovery threw the entire family and community into mourning.
On August 19, 2025, Moses was finally laid to rest in an emotional funeral. His little friends, who could not fully understand what had happened, quietly walked up to his small coffin and stared at him. The sight was heartbreaking, as it was clear they were confused and wondering why their friend was not waking up to play with them like before.
Many Kenyans who saw the photos online expressed their grief. Some said the little boys were probably asking themselves why Moses was just lying still, while others believed they were wondering why he couldn’t get up and join them in their usual games.
The tragic death of young Moses has left a deep scar in the hearts of his family, friends, and community, reminding everyone of how fragile life can be.
