Patricia Crowley, a well-known American actress remembered for her roles in Please Don’t Eat the Daisies and Dynasty, has passed away at the age of 91.
She died peacefully on Sunday, September 14, in Los Angeles, just two days before what would have been her 92nd birthday. Her passing was confirmed by her son, Jon Hookstratten,who works as the Executive Vice President of Administration & Operations at Sony Pictures. Jon explained that his mother died of natural causes. Patricia is survived by her husband, television producer Andy Friendly, whom she married in 1986.
Patricia Crowley’s career spanned many decades, and she became a familiar face on both television and in films. She is perhaps best remembered for her role as Joan Nash in the much-loved sitcom Please Don’t Eat the Daisies, which aired from 1965 to 1967. In the series, she played the witty wife of Jim Nash (portrayed by Mark Miller). Together, their characters were parents to four lively young boys, and the show captured the chaos and humor of family life.

Beyond that, Patricia enjoyed a rich career in television dramas and soap operas. She appeared in 65 episodes of Generations as Rebecca Whitmore between 1989 and 1990. From 1997 to 2003, she took on one of her longest roles as Mary Scanlon in Port Charles, appearing in an impressive 251 episodes.
Her work continued into the 2000s. In 2005, she appeared in The Bold and the Beautiful as Natalie DeWitt. Years earlier, in 1986, she played Emily Fallmont in ten episodes of the hit primetime soap opera Dynasty. Her character was the wife of Senator Buck Fallmont and the mother of Clay and Bart. Much of her storyline focused on a secret past affair that created tension and raised questions about her son’s true parentage.
Throughout her career, Patricia Crowley built a reputation as a versatile and graceful actress, capable of moving between comedy and drama with ease. She leaves behind not only her family but also a lasting legacy of memorable performances that touched audiences for generations.
