Authorities in Argentina are looking into a terrible and shocking crime that has horrified people across the country. Three young women were kidnapped, brutally tortured, sexually assaulted, and then murdered while everything was shown live on TikTok. The killers are believed to be part of a violent drug gang.
Police said the disturbing livestream was watched by many people before the gang carried out the executions. The victims have been identified as 15-year-old Lara Gutierrez, 20-year-old Brenda del Castillo, and 21-year-old Morena Verdi.
According to local news, the gang accused two of the young women of stealing four kilograms of cocaine. Investigators now believe the murders were a form of Narco Revenge, meaning the gang wanted to punish them in the cruelest way possible as a warning to others.
When authorities discovered the bodies, the details were horrifying. Reports said that Lara Gutierrez had the fingers of her left hand cut off before she was killed. Brenda del Castillo had a broken skull and her stomach cut open. Morena Verdi was suffocated with a plastic bag, which was still over her head when police found her.
Buenos Aires Security Minister Javier Alonso explained that the three women were last seen alive when they got into a vehicle. They thought they were being invited to an event, but instead they were tricked and led straight into a trap planned by the gang.
Their bodies were later found buried in the garden of a house, Alonso confirmed. He added that the drug trafficking group, which has its main base of operations in Buenos Aires, had chosen that house to carry out the killings.
The families of the young women have been notified, and they are left devastated by the cruelty of the crime. Meanwhile, the authorities are now searching for the gang leader, a Peruvian national who is accused of giving the order for the killings. He is believed to have already escaped from Argentina.
