The Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo earlier on Thursday, established a 12-man committee at a ceremony in Benin, the capital city of Edo State.
Bsgistnews.com gathered that the committee is strictly for the purpose of retrieving all vehicles belonging to the State Government, which have been said to be in private hands across the state.
Governor Monday Okpebholo gave the 12-man committee a period of two weeks to ensure that Government vehicles in private hands are retrieved and same returned to the State Government.
Giving a speech after the inauguration of the Committee, its Chairman, Kelly Okungbowa, thanked the Governor graciously for the confidence bestowed on the committee while at the same time expressed the readiness of the members of the committee to carry out the task.
He also pointed out that a lot of government vehicles were in private hands, and the duty of the committee therefore would be to ensure that they are all recovered within the stipulated time.
The Governor Monday Okpebholo committee further reiterated thus;
“A lot of vehicles used by the past administration are missing as those in custody of the vehicles have refused to return them. The Governor deemed it fit to inaugurate us today with a mandate to recover all government vehicles in private hands.”
Finally, Kelly used the medium to appeal to members of the general public who might be aware of anyone keeping the State Government Vehicles in their custody to inform the committee so as to enable them retrieve same.
