Seyi Makinde, Oyo State Governor has confirmed that those responsible for the devastating explosion that rocked Bodija, Ibadan, last year are currently behind bars.
The governor made this announcement on the one-year anniversary of the tragic incident, which claimed several lives, injured many, and destroyed properties worth millions of naira.
Governor Seyi Makinde reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all parts of the state.
He emphasized the importance of citizens’ cooperation with security operatives to prevent similar incidents in the future.
“The explosion could have been prevented if those who noticed the storage of explosive devices in residential areas had informed our security operatives,” Seyi Makinde stated.
The governor also called on citizens to take security issues seriously and provide necessary information to help security operatives discharge their duties.
He prayed for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives in the incident and asked for God’s continued strength for their loved ones.
Seyi Makinde assured that his administration has taken steps to prosecute those responsible for the explosion, who are currently facing trial for terrorism.
