A former Nigerian senator, Ibrahim Musa, is dead. He died on Thursday, August 7, at Nizamiye Hospital in Abuja after a short illness.
He was the senator for Niger North from 2011 to 2015. He was elected under the now-closed Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and was known to support the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Niger State Government confirmed his death in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman.

The statement said: “Senator Ibrahim died today (Thursday) in Abuja after a short illness. He left behind a record of service to his people and to the nation.”
Many people have shared kind words and messages about him. The Niger State Government said his death is a big loss to the state and to Nigeria.
When he was in the Senate, he was known for speaking clearly on important matters and working to help his people. He was also loyal to progressive ideas.
The family is expected to announce the burial plans soon.
