The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has officially closed its 2025 recruitment portal, confirming that it received an overwhelming 1.9 million applications from across Nigeria.
According to the board, Kogi, Kaduna, Benue, and Katsina States recorded the highest number of applicants in the nationwide exercise.
The recruitment process, which was initially set to begin on June 26, 2025, faced multiple delays due to persistent portal issues. The deadline was moved from July 14 to July 21, and later extended once again, with the final closure taking place on August 11, 2025; a week after the original August 4 deadline.
In a statement posted on its official X (Twitter) account, CDCFIB announced:
“The official recruitment portal for the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board is now closed. We thank all applicants for their interest and commitment to serving with honour, integrity, and national pride.
Next step! Shortlisted candidates will be contacted shortly with further instructions. Please monitor your email and text messages over the coming weeks for notifications. We also encourage you to regularly check the portal and our social media handles for important updates.”
Recruitment Criteria
The exercise was open to Nigerian citizens aged 18 to 35 years who met specific height requirements, 1.65 metres for men and 1.60 metres for women and had no criminal records. Applicants were also required to be mentally and physically fit. The minimum educational qualification was an SSCE certificate with credits, while degree holders in fields such as law, engineering, medicine, or technical trades were particularly encouraged.
