Nollywood actress Evans Okoro has raised alarm, alleging that her life is in danger due to threats from her husband,Chibuzo Erikife.The couple tied the knot last year, with photos from their introduction and wedding ceremony widely shared online.
However, less than a year into the marriage, Evans released an emotional video claiming that her husband was after her life. She said she has been living in constant fear and felt the need to speak out before it’s too late. According to her, Chibuzo allegedly vowed to kill her if she ever tried to leave him.
Evans also disclosed several troubling details about her marriage.She alleged that her husband married her under the false belief that she was wealthy, pointing to her house as proof. She clarified that she had begun building the house long before their marriage.On their wedding day, she claims, his family failed to pay her bride price, despite repeated calls from her father asking them to do so.
The actress further revealed that her husband has not been intimate with her since their wedding, and even after she complained to his family, nothing changed. She recounted an incident where she travelled to Lagos for a job, and her husband accompanied her. After she was paid for the work, he allegedly tried to take the money, but she refused. Following that trip, Chibuzo reportedly stayed behind and has not returned to Lagos or contacted her for two weeks.
Evans said she has filed a petition with the police but is unsure of her next steps. She also claimed she heard rumours, and even had a dream, that her husband was plotting to kidnap her.
It will be recalled that a few years ago, Evans Okoro’s house was demolished. She openly shared her pain online at the time but later proudly showcased the new house she built to replace it.
