AEDC (Abuja Electricity Distribution Company) has announced a planned power outage in various parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, from January 6 to 21, 2025.
The disruption is necessary to facilitate the relocation of the 33KV DC Airport Feeder and 132KV Kukwaba-Apo Transmission Line Towers along the Outer Southern Motorway.
According to AEDC, the affected areas will include Lugbe, Airport Road, Kapwa, NNPC, Games Village, National Stadium, Eye Clinic, Indoor Complex, Christ Embassy Church, American International School, Spring Court, American Embassy Quarters, EFCC HQ, Coca Cola, Railway, FMC, and parts of Apo.
Other areas that will be impacted by the power outage include parts of Gudu, Gbazango, Kubwa, Bwari, Jahi, Jabi, Karu, Nyanya, Mararaba, Keffi, and other parts of Abuja.
AEDC has apologized for the inconvenience this may cause and has assured residents that the relocation work is essential for improving the overall power supply in the FCT.
