The Defence Headquarters has commended the Finnish Police over the arrest and detention of the controversial self- acclaimed Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government in-Exile (BRGIE) pro-Biafra Simon Ekpa.
The Defence Headquarters through the Director of Defence Media Operations, Edward Buba, and the Director of Defence Information, Tukur Gusau, in their separate statements on Thursday, described the arrest of Simon Ekpa as a “key victory” in the fight against terr*rism.
Both Buba and Gusau had stated that the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Christopher Musa has expressed happiness over the arrest of the pro-Biafra agitator.
Brigadier General Gusau also said in his released statement that the Chief of Defence Staff is excited over Simon Ekpa’s arrest in Finland and also wishes that this will be a step towards his extradition to Nigeria so that he will face justice.
On the other hand, Major General Buba in his statement stated that the CDS had viewed Simon Ekpa’s arrest as an indication that the international community was in synergy with Nigeria in its efforts to fight terr*rism.
That the CDS had always called for the arrest of Simon Ekpa following his deep involvement in fueling terrorism in South-east Nigeria.
