The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced the reopening of its recruitment portal following a temporary suspension caused by technical difficulties.
Last week, the board halted the ongoing recruitment exercise into four federal paramilitary agencies after the portal experienced glitches that disrupted the application process. However, in a fresh update released on Monday, the board confirmed that the portal has now been restored to full functionality.
In a statement, CDCFIB apologized to applicants for the inconvenience, stating that the temporary closure was necessary to upgrade the system to accommodate the overwhelming number of entries it had received.
“We sincerely apologize for the disruption experienced during the application process. The system was temporarily shut down to enhance its performance and ensure it can seamlessly handle the volume of applications,” the board said.
The board urged all applicants who had previously started the application process to revisit the portal and complete their submissions beginning July 21, 2025, via https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng.

“We appreciate the passion and patriotism of Nigerian youths who aspire to serve in these critical security and civil institutions. Our commitment is to deliver a recruitment process that is transparent, inclusive, and fair to all,” the statement added.
Efforts to Resolve Technical Gaps
The CDCFIB also acknowledged concerns raised by applicants regarding missing or unlisted local government areas in the portal’s dropdown selection. The board assured affected applicants that efforts are underway to resolve the issue promptly.
“We are aware that some candidates are unable to proceed with their applications due to missing or unlisted local government areas. Please be assured that corrective actions are being taken, and updates will be made to the portal accordingly,” the board said.
The recruitment exercise covers positions across the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), the Federal Fire Service (FFS), and the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).
