Fubara the Rivers State Governor has signed the state’s N1.1 trillion 2025 budget into law, marking a significant milestone for the administration.
The budget, presented to the Victor Oko-Jumbo-led State Assembly last week by the Governor, outlines the government’s spending plans until December 31st, 2025, and comprises 12 sections.
Governor Fubara commended the State Assembly for their efforts, acknowledging the challenges they faced in passing the budget.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to recognizing only the Victor Oko-Jumbo-led Assembly, amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the defection of Martins Amaewhule and 26 other members to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor emphasized that the decision to disqualify the Amaewhule group is final and irreversible, citing their loyalty to former Governor Nyesom Wike, who has been at odds with Fubara.
Despite the challenges, Fubara remains focused on steering Rivers State towards greater accomplishments.
The N1.1 trillion budget is expected to drive economic growth and development in the state, with allocations for various sectors, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment.
