The All Progressives Congress (APC) has remained silent over the reported resignation of its National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
As reported earlier that Ganduje, a former Governor of Kano State, had stepped down from his position as APC National Chairman, citing health concerns. According to the reports, the resignation is with immediate effect.
The news gained momentum after Bashir Ahmad, a former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, disclosed in a post on X (formerly Twitter):
“The National Chairman of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has resigned from his position, effective immediately, as confirmed by multiple sources.”
Despite the public attention the announcement has generated, the APC has yet to release an official statement confirming or denying the report.
Attempts by DAILY POST to reach the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, were unsuccessful. Calls placed to his mobile number were not answered, and text messages sent were not returned as of the time of filing this report.
Sources within the party indicate that Ganduje may have resigned following mounting pressure from key stakeholders, particularly in the North-Central region of the country. Party leaders from the region have long expressed discontent, arguing that the position of National Chairman should return to their geopolitical zone.
