General CG Musa, Chief of Defence Staff, has sent a strong message that the days of notorious bandit leader, Bello Turji, are numbered.
General CG Musa assured that Turji’s capture is imminent, citing the recent k*lling of his commanders and the arrest of his close associates.
According to General CG Musa, Turji has been forced to operate underground, but the military is closing in on him.
“We are picking everybody close to him, all those giving him support in one way or the other,” Musa said during an appearance on Channels Television’s 2024 Year-In-Review programme.
“We have k*lled his commanders, and it’s just a matter of time before we bring him to justice.”
Musa also shared a significant update on the counter-terrorism efforts in the North-East, revealing that over 120,000 terr*rists have surrendered.
He noted that some of these individuals were coerced into joining the insurgency, highlighting the complexities of the conflict.
With Turji’s capture looming, the military’s efforts to dismantle his network and bring peace to the region are gaining momentum.
