Governor Zulum of Borno State has made a generous donation of N300 million to support the families of soldiers who have lost their lives in the fight against Boko Haram insurgents.
This announcement was made during the 2025 Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) Operation Desert Sanity 2 Medal Parade in N’Djamena, Chad.
According to Governor Zulum, the donation will be channeled through the “Tribute to Our Troops Charity Foundation,” a noble initiative established by the Chief of Defence Staff to provide support to the families of deceased and injured soldiers.
Governor Zulum emphasized the importance of honoring the sacrifices made by the military in protecting Nigeria’s territorial integrity.
He acknowledged the bravery of the soldiers who paid the ultimate price for the country’s safety, stating that supporting their families is the least that can be done to acknowledge their sacrifices.
Zulum also noted that while the insurgency in the North East has significantly declined, there is still a need for the military to intensify efforts to eliminate the remnants of Boko Haram elements, particularly in the Lake Chad region.
This donation is a proof to Governor Zulum’s commitment to supporting the families of fallen soldiers and acknowledging their sacrifices.
