Hope Uzodinma, the Imo State Governor has signed the 2025 Appropriation Bill into law, paving the way for the allocation of N807 billion to various sectors.
The bill, which was initially proposed at N756 billion, was increased by the State House of Assembly to address the needs of the people.
Governor Hope Uzodinma expressed his satisfaction with the swift passage of the bill, noting that the increase in the budget demonstrates the alignment between the Executive and Legislative arms of government.
He emphasized that the budget is designed to drive economic transformation through improved infrastructure and industrialization.
Key Allocations in Hope Uzodinma’s Budget;
– Capital Expenditure: N694,786,041,220 (86.09% of the total budget)
– Recurrent Expenditure: N112,302,000,000 (13.91% of the budget)
The Governor highlighted the allocations to core ministries, including:
– Ministry of Works and Infrastructural Development: N297,509,312,778 (42.8% of the capital expenditure)
– Ministry of Transport: N101,010,000,000 (14.5% of the capital expenditure)
– Ministry of Power and Electrification: N74,755,479,042 (10.8% of the capital expenditure)
Governor Hope Uzodinma assured the people of Imo State that his administration is committed to implementing the budget to achieve its goals, including creating expanded economic opportunities and positioning the state as a prime destination for investors.
