Piers Morgan Urges President Trump to Tell Netanyahu to End Terrible Gaza War

British journalist and broadcaster Piers Morgan has ignited political debate by publicly calling on U.S.A President Donald Trump to intervene in the intensifying war in Gaza.

In a statement posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on June 30, 2025, Morgan appealed directly to the 47th President of the United States, urging him to “tell Netanyahu to end this terrible war.”

His comment comes amid surging international condemnation of Israel’s ongoing military campaign, which has led to unprecedented civilian suffering and humanitarian collapse in Gaza.

This call from Morgan is not just a casual political commen, it is a direct appeal to a sitting U.S. President, who wields extraordinary diplomatic leverage in the Middle East. Trump, having returned to power in January 2025, has already faced mounting pressure from international actors, aid agencies, and global citizens demanding urgent U.S. leadership on the crisis.

The Gaza war, now in its twenty-first month, has devastated Palestinian infrastructure, displaced millions, and led to the deaths of more than 52,000 people, according to recent reports by the United Nations and the World Health Organization. Entire neighborhoods have been flattened by Israeli airstrikes.

Hospitals have ceased functioning, schools have turned into shelters, and humanitarian aid has been blocked or bombed in several key entry points. The Israeli government under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insists the operations are aimed at dismantling Hamas, but the scale of destruction has drawn growing condemnation.

Piers Morgan’s statement read: “President @realDonaldTrump, now is the time for you to tell @netanyahu to end this terrible war in Gaza, and stop the incessant daily slaughter of civilians. Only you can do this, and as your friend, who knows you hate war, I urge you.”

It is a rare moment in which a high-profile British media figure breaks ranks with traditional diplomatic protocols, choosing instead to confront the most powerful man in the world on an issue of global moral urgency.

President Trump has yet to issue a direct response to Morgan’s plea. However, in the days preceding this call, the Trump administration did release a statement urging for “mutual restraint” and “steps toward a ceasefire.” The White House has also indicated that it is pursuing a trilateral framework with Egypt and Qatar to facilitate humanitarian access and explore a temporary cessation of hostilities.

Still, critics argue that these gestures fall short of the kind of assertive diplomacy necessary to stop the war. With American military and financial support playing a crucial role in sustaining Israel’s operations, Trump’s influence over Netanyahu remains one of the most decisive levers in the conflict.

What makes Morgan’s appeal even more impactful is its deeply personal tone. Referring to Trump as a “friend” and invoking his perceived aversion to war, Morgan leverages both emotional and political capital in hopes of spurring action. It is not simply a call for peace; it is a calculated use of public pressure on a man he believes has both the will and the influence to end the carnage.

What’s Next for Piers Morgan?

Piers Morgan has never shied away from controversy, but his recent intervention may mark a new chapter in his public identity. Known for his blunt commentary on everything from celebrity scandals to British politics, Piers Morgan now appears to be stepping deeper into international affairs. This bold stance against the Gaza war, may signal a transition from punditry to something more akin to activism.

In the coming weeks, Piers Morgan is expected to feature prominently in political talk shows and media coverage related to the conflict. Already, his remarks have gone viral on both sides of the Atlantic, sparking thousands of reposts and replies. Supporters hail his courage for using his platform to challenge global power; critics accuse him of overstepping his role and dabbling in foreign policy without accountability.

Some insiders suggest Piers Morgan could be preparing a more comprehensive media campaign. Sources close to his production team at TalkTV have hinted that upcoming episodes of his program Piers Morgan Uncensored will feature in-depth panels on the Gaza war, possibly including guests from humanitarian agencies, ex-diplomats, and even Israeli and Palestinian commentators. Morgan himself has stated on air that the media must “hold all governments accountable when human lives are on the line.”

While it remains uncertain whether his appeal will yield tangible diplomatic outcomes, one thing is clear: Piers Morgan has inserted himself firmly into one of the most polarizing geopolitical conversations of the decade.
