President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, on his 60th birthday.
In a statement, President Bola Tinubu commended Kyari’s diligence in transforming the NNPCL into a profitable organization, despite initial skepticism.
Under Kyari’s leadership, the NNPCL has achieved significant milestones, including the revitalization of two refineries, increased domestic natural gas consumption, and a surge in oil production to 1.8 million barrels per day.
Tinubu lauded Kyari’s dedication to service and professionalism throughout his illustrious career at the NNPC, OPEC, and NNPCL.
Kyari, who expressed gratitude to Presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve, reflected on his life’s journey, describing it as a series of trials and triumphs.
President Bola Tinubu praised Kyari as a shining example of the Renewed Hope Agenda, commending his commitment to creating new opportunities and ensuring the growth and sustainability of Nigeria’s energy sector.
