Diplomat Tunde Gesinde on Friday, extended his heartfelt condolences to the Nigerian Union of Journalists under the umbrella of Student Journalists (Kwara State Chapter) following the passing of Rafat Salami, the recently elected Treasurer of the International Press Institute.
The vibrant broadcaster, unionist and activist died Thursday night after a brief illness.
BSGISTNEWS reports that Hajia Salami was recently elected Treasurer of the Nigeria chapter of the International Press Institute (IPI), alongside other notable journalists.
Tributes were pouring in from colleagues, friends, mentees and associates, expressing shock and devastation over her demise. Salami is survived by 20-year-old autistic son, Ahmed Salami.
