APC (All Progressives Congress), in a significant blow to the opposition has gained about 1,500 members from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), and Young Progressive Party (YPP) who have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State.
This mass defection is seen as a major boost to the APC’s strength in the state.
The defectors, comprising leaders and supporters from various parties, were received by Representative Aminu Jaji, who represents the Birnin Magaji/Kaura Namoda Federal Constituency.
Jaji, represented by Alhaji Isiyaka Ajiya-Anka, State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Jajiyyaa Group, welcomed the new members and assured them of fair treatment and a good working relationship.
Notable Defectors to APC Include;
– Former APGA Chairman: Alhaji Rabi’u Salisu-Bature, along with hundreds of APGA members from across the state
– YPP Chairman: Alhaji Sani Anka, accompanied by hundreds of YPP members
– PDP Leaders: Alhaji Nasiru Yusuf, former Director-General, and Malam Ibrahim Tado, a PDP elder from Shinkafi Local Government Area
– PDP Women and Youth Leaders: Hajiya Abu Alasan and Lukman Hamidu, respectively, from Shinkafi LGA.
This mass defection is expected to bolster the APC’s position in Zamfara State, while dealing a significant blow to the opposition parties.
