Kogi Assembly has given the green light to the 2025 Appropriation Bill, totaling N582,404,119,489.
This development follows the adoption of the report by the House Standing Committee on Appropriation, Budget Monitoring, and Economic Planning.
The breakdown of the budget reveals that recurrent expenditure will account for over N281,153,215,687, while capital expenditure will take up over N301,280,903,802.
According to Speaker Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf of the Kogi Assembly, the bill allocates funds to various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, and will be effective from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo had presented the 2025 appropriation bill to the Kogi Assembly on December 3, 2024.
The bill’s passage demonstrates the lawmakers’ commitment to fulfilling their constitutional duties.
