Brown Ideye made a highly anticipated debut for Enyimba on Tuesday night, as the People’s Elephant played out a 0-0 draw against Bendel Insurance in Aba.
The 36-year-old former Super Eagles forward was unveiled by the nine-time Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions just a day earlier.
Brown Ideye was introduced into the game six minutes before the break, replacing Ifeanyi Ihemekwele.
Brown Ideye almost made an instant impact, coming close to scoring for Enyimba in the latter stages of the match.
Despite the draw, Enyimba moved up two places to ninth position on the NPFL table.
However, the result extends their winless run to 10 games across all competitions.
Manager Stanley Eguma will be hoping that Ideye’s arrival can help turn the team’s fortunes around.
