Fabio Cannavaro, Italian football legend, has been appointed as the new manager of Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb.
The former Udinese boss, who parted ways with the Serie A club at the end of last season, will take the reins at Dinamo Zagreb on January 3.
Fabio Cannavaro’s primary objective will be to revitalize the team’s fortunes, as they currently sit third in the Croatian league, trailing leaders Rijeka and Hajduk Split by seven points.
The 49-year-old tactician replaces Nenad Bjelica and will be tasked with guiding Dinamo Zagreb back to the top of the table.
Dinamo Zagreb’s management board, sports director, and club president all backed the decision to appoint Cannavaro, who boasts an impressive managerial resume.
His previous coaching stints include spells at Benevento, Al Nassr, and Guangzhou Evergrande.
In a statement, Dinamo Zagreb welcomed Cannavaro, saying, “We congratulate Mr. Fabio Cannavaro on his new position and wish him the best of luck and success on the Dinamo bench.”
Cannavaro, a decorated defender during his playing days with Juventus and Real Madrid, will be officially presented as Dinamo Zagreb’s new manager on January 3.
