Argentina’s national team head coach, Lionel Scaloni, has shared his insights on the leading contenders for this season’s UEFA Champions League title, pointing out two standout clubs.
Manchester City, the reigning champions who secured Europe’s top-flight trophy last season with a 1-0 victory over Inter Milan in the final, have earned Scaloni’s favor once again.
Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, Scaloni expressed his views, saying, “Who will win the Champions League? Manchester City is above the other teams; they are the favourites.” He acknowledged Pep Guardiola’s side as the front-runners in the competition.
In addition to Manchester City, Scaloni highlighted Real Madrid as perennial contenders, emphasizing their consistent status as strong contenders in the Champions League.
Both Manchester City and Real Madrid are currently navigating through the Champions League Round of 16 stage, further intensifying the competition as they strive to claim the coveted title this season.
