A first-year student of Taraba State University (TSU), identified as Comfort Jimtop Oliver, has sadly lost her life at her boyfriend’s residence in Jalingo.
Comfort, who was studying Mass Communication, was discovered dead in a room located at the Bakasi area of Jalingo, close to Dr. Rapha’s quarters and directly opposite the Vice-Chancellor’s gate. The tragic incident happened on Friday, September 12, 2025.
According to information gathered, Comfort was from Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State and belonged to the Kuteb ethnic group.
At the moment, the exact cause of her death is not clear. However, the police and other relevant authorities have already started an investigation in order to uncover what really happened.
A police officer who spoke on the matter explained that when they arrived at the house, they found empty bottles of alcoholic drinks beside the bed where Comfort’s lifeless body was lying.
The officer further revealed that when the case was reported and the police rushed to the scene, nobody was inside the house, even though the building had more than 15 tenants. The main occupant of the room, who is believed to be Comfort’s boyfriend, was also not around. In fact, he has not been seen since the incident and is currently considered to be on the run.
The police have assured that investigations are still ongoing, and more details will be made public once they have clearer information about the circumstances surrounding Comfort’s sudden death.
