TCN (The Transmission Company of Nigeria) has announced a planned power outage in parts of Oyo State, effective Thursday, January 9, 2025.
The outage, scheduled to last from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, is necessary for preventive maintenance on the 150MVA 330/132/33kV transformer at the Ayede Transmission Substation in Ibadan.
According to TCN’s spokesperson, Ndidi Mbah, the maintenance work will impact areas serviced by the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC).
The affected areas include Oluyole, Apata, Lanlate, Iyaganku, Liberty, Eleyele, Express, Industrial, and Interchange.
During the outage, IBEDC will implement load shedding measures to minimize the impact on consumers.
TCN apologized for the inconvenience and assured that the maintenance work is essential to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the power grid.
This outage is the latest in a series of planned power disruptions by TCN.
Recently, the company announced a two-week outage in parts of Abuja and Nasarawa State, as well as a 24-hour outage in parts of Delta State.
