Nigerian Afrobeat Singer, Tiwa Savage has set social media buzzing after boldly sharing her current views on love, money, and the double standards women face in relationships.
In a Recent interview, the Afrobeat superstar is celebrated for both her vocal talent and unapologetic personality, admitted her priorities have shifted. She recalled

how, in the past, she believed love alone could sustain a relationship, even when financial stability was missing.
“I used to think, ‘Oh my God, I don’t care if you’re not making money, it’s just love,’” Tiwa confessed. “But now? I need someone who already has money. I think I’m at that point in my life.”
Her words weren’t just about personal preference ,they also called out the societal bias that judges women far more harshly than men when dating across financial lines.

“No one says anything when a wealthy man dates a woman with less income or status, people just say, ‘Oh, she’s beautiful,’” she noted. “But when a woman does it, suddenly it’s ‘dating down’ order she’s a gold digger.”
With a mix of sarcasm and defiance, Tiwa challenged the imbalance:
“Men have long lists, cook, clean, be submissive, listen, do this and that. We ask for one thing , just have money ,and it’s a problem?”
She ended with a playful vision of her ideal romance:
“Let me experience meeting at the jetty and flying off to Monaco or Saint-Tropez. I’ve done the struggle love for years. Let me try the other side now.”
