Gunmen stormed the Mai Rana community in Kusada Local Government Area, k*lling three people, including Alhaji Surajo Leader, the Katsina State Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN).
The gunmen attack, which has sent shockwaves through the community, also resulted in the abduction of two of the deceased’s wives and his daughter, an undergraduate student.
The victims have since been laid to rest according to Islamic rites, amidst growing apprehension in the area.
According to ASP Abubakar Aliyu, spokesperson for the Katsina Police Command, police operatives responded swiftly to the attack and engaged the gunmen in a fierce shootout.
The gunmen were forced to flee, abandoning one of their operational vehicles and one of the abducted wives.
Investigation and Rescue Efforts;
The police have launched an investigation into the attack and are working to rescue the remaining victims.
ASP Aliyu has appealed to the public to come forward with any credible information that could aid in locating the fleeing criminals.
The attack has raised concerns about the growing insecurity in the region, and the police have assured the public that they are doing everything in their power to ensure the safety and security of all citizens.
