Police Officers from the Ogun State Police Command has taken a significant step in maintaining law and order by parading 25 suspects accused of various crimes, including kidn@pping, m*rder, and cultism.
Commissioner of Police Lanre Ogunlowo presented the suspects at the command’s headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, on Monday, revealing that the arrests were made within the last three weeks.
Among the suspects is Afeez Ayeteru, who allegedly behe@ded an 80-year-old woman, Aduke, in the Ado-Odo Ota area.
The officers responded swiftly to a distress call and apprehended Ayeteru as he attempted to flee.
Another notable case involves 45-year-old twin brothers Taiwo Yemitan and Kehinde Yemitan, who allegedly k*lled and dismembered a woman named Darasimi for rituals in the Lafenwa area of Abeokuta.
Taiwo Yemitan confessed to selling human parts k*lled by others, stating that the victim was his friend and that it was his first time committing such a heinous crime.
Commissioner Ogunlowo warned criminals in the state to desist from their actions or face the consequences, emphasizing that the suspects would face charges in court once the investigation is completed.
He urged the public to continue providing timely information to aid the police in preventing and addressing criminal activities.
