Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, national leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and former governor of Kano State, has accused some Northern leaders of spreading falsehood ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso claims these leaders are interfering in the selection of candidates, particularly in the presidential election, and wrongly claiming to represent the region.
According to Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, this interference is causing division and hindering democracy by electing unqualified leaders.
He emphasized the importance of truth and transparency in the selection process, stating that leaders should not show favoritism and should allow the people to choose their preferred candidates.
Kwankwaso also denied rumors of an agreement between him and former presidential candidates Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, where each would serve as president for a term.
He expressed his disappointment and hurt over the spread of false information, reiterating that no such pact exists.
It’s worth noting that Kwankwaso’s accusations come amid reports of Northern politicians searching for a candidate to challenge President Tinubu in the 2027 election.
Some Northern leaders are reportedly dissatisfied with the current administration and are seeking alternative candidates.
