Police Officers of the Anambra State Command have confirmed the kidn@pping of two Catholic nuns by unidentified gunmen.
The abduction occurred along Ufuma Road in Orumba North Local Government Area.
According to Anambra State Command Force Spokesman SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the incident took place on Tuesday evening as the nuns returned from a vocational service meeting in Ogboji.
A joint security operation is currently underway to rescue the victims.
Commissioner of Police Nnaghe Itam and Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations have visited the scene for a thorough assessment.
The authorities are working with available clues to apprehend the suspects and secure the victims’ safe release.
